The FINANCIAL — Time efficiency and qualified service are what modern citizens want from medical establishments. And this is exactly what Axa Medical’s clinic will offer its patients. The second branch of an Axa Medical clinic has just been opened in the Vake district of Tbilisi. Further branch expansion is in the pipeline. In addition, the company has developed telemedicine, which will enable clinical healthcare to be provided at a distance.
“Modern medicine has turned into a type of service, which includes advance booking and the gradual checking of passengers. However, the word ‘medicine’ means immediate help. This is what our clinic will offer. We will do our best to return the meaning to the term. We have a team of top professionals. The clinic is equipped with modern equipment, a modern laboratory, and has a proficient connection to the insurance system. We have everything that is required for the ideal connection between doctor and patient,” said Dr. Vladimer Kakhadze, Radiologist at Axa Medical.
“We decided to expand our chain due to the demand from patients. Affordability for citizens is one of the main aims of the healthcare system. Territorial proximity provides affordability. Accordingly, we decided to establish our first branches in two of Tbilisi’s largest districts – Saburtalo and Vake. Based on the experience of these clinics, we will then plan further expansion in Tbilisi and in the country’s regions,” Nino Kekenadze, Director at Axa Medical, told The FINANCIAL.
Axa Medical is based on the British healthcare model. The main goal of its clinic is providing primary healthcare services, including improving the quality of management of chronic disease. The clinic is multi-profile; incorporating family medicine, surgery, gynaecology, dermatology, cardiology, allergy, ultrasound examination, and immunization. A laryngology and eye department, laboratory, and ultrasound diagnoses are offered at Axa Medical. The team of paediatricians consists of paediatric surgeons and paediatric cardiologists. Clinical consultations, minor surgeries and routine immunizations are all provided by the team of professionals.
Qualification and experience were the main criteria according to which Axa Medical built its team. “They have been involved in this field and successfully working in other clinics for many years. Over that time they have managed to amass a huge number of loyal patients who trust them a great deal. Having trust between doctor and patient is crucial at our clinic, which is why we decided to invite these specialists to join us,” said Kekenadze.
“There are many doctors that are constantly working on self-education, searching for novelties and developments in their field. We have gathered just such a team at AXA Georgia. Our team are flexible, mobile, and advanced and will be involved not only in clinical practice but also in scientific activities,” she added.
In addition, Axa Medical has planned a continuous medical education system. The company plans to develop telemedicine, online education, and its participation in international conferences, not only of individual doctors, but also the involvement of the whole clinic in international projects.
According to Kekenadze, time efficiency and qualified service are the main demands of modern patients. “I, myself, as a patient, am looking for a minimally stressful environment, looking to receive rapid and efficient service and get concrete results.” Besides its medical personnel, Axa Medical has also trained its administrative staff to simplify life for its patients.
Axa Medical is establishing an innovative standard of healthcare in Georgia. It offers a special service to its patients, in line with healthcare principles.
Axa Medical completely shares the approach of the World Health Organization – “Better Health for All”. It also provides the population with PHC goals of spiritual and physical health. Our focus is the team’s professionalism, public health, including preventive education, as well as the strict control of clinics’ sanitary norms and standards.
Follow-up service will also be offered by Axa Medical. This means remaining in permanent contact with patients, their health status monitoring, and providing information regarding clinical programmes, as well as the opportunity for family doctors and laboratory services ‘at-home’.
In Kekenadze’s words, the attitude of Georgians towards prophylactic checking is changing gradually. “We feel an obligation to provide prophylactic education in order to reduce the number of diseased patients. “In addition, we will transform our Facebook page so that it includes an educational function. Our doctors will provide useful advice to the population. We will be making our relations with patients more interactive.”
For now, patients make appointments with Axa Medical doctors via a call-centre. A mobile app for the clinic will soon be launched which will allow citizens to book appointments via their technological devices as well.
Despite its high quality equipment, prices at Axa Medical are average and at a sometimes lower cost than those currently on the market. “Everyone deserves better health regardless of their income,” Kekenadze told The FINANCIAL.
