The FINANCIAL — The Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Georgia, Giorgi Khanishvili met with the Agricultural Development Manager of French Cooperative “AXEREAL”, Jean-François Berger.
At the meeting, the two sides have been focused on issues related to the seed production and bioproduction- organic farming development in poultry farming system of Georgia, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia.
Georgian side held a scheduled meeting with the producers of poultry farms and cereal crops in order to provide Jean-François Berger with more detailed information.Within the framework of the visit, the Deputy Minister accompanied with the French Agricultural Development Manager visited the company “Lomtagora”, which is a diversified- multisectoral agricultural organization targeted at breeding and seed production of maize, wheat and other field crops.
Mr. Berger expressed readiness to cooperate with Georgian side and offered Georgian producers testing of French seedlings and varieties of wheat.
As Jean-François Berger noted, Georgia has a great potential in poultry as well as organic cereal seed production.The French cooperative “AXEREAL” is comprised of 13,000 members and is one of the biggest cooperative in France, combining chicken meat, egg, seed and food products.
