The FINANCIAL — According to Civil Georgia, Abkhaz leader Sergey Bagapsh said that the talks with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili have “no perspective.”
“The elections in Georgia do not mean anything for Abkhazia. These elections were held in a neighbor state,” Bagapsh told Interfax news agency on January 13.
Mikheil Saakashvili was re-elected in the January 5 presidential elections with 53.47% of votes.
“If it were another president, probably we would have resumed a dialogue, but not about the political status of Abkhazia. Any talks with Saakashvili in the current situation are non-perspective,” Bagapsh said.
