The FINANCIAL — Chief of the President's Staff Viktor Baloha stepped down, Verkhovna Rada deputy Ihor Kril of the Our Ukraine – People's Self-Defense bloc faction, who is also leader of the United Centre party, announced on TVi channel May 17 broadcast.
"This another confirmation Viktor Baloha being an offbeat person. He can easily leave any post… you remember many officials in Ukraine who could run to submit resignation statement, easily leave such a high post for recent years?" the deputy said.
Kril refused to comment reasons of Baloha's resignation, he just stressed that after President Viktor Yuschenko makes decision on this question, Baloha would give all necessary commentaries.
"Baloha himself should give commentaries and I think when the president's final decision arrives, these commentaries would be made public," he remarked.
The parliamentarian also denied to predict, if Yuschenko would grant the application of the Presidential Secretariat's head, saying anything possible in the Ukrainian politics.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Baloha was appointed as the President's Chief of Staff on September 15, 2006.
In May 2008, Baloha said he was ready to step down if Yuschenko demanded.
