The FINANCIAL — With the support of the Future Fund, established by Bank of Georgia, one of the leading Georgian banks, a new type of housing shelter for orphans was opened in Rustavi, a city close to Tbilisi.
The fund issued 70,275 GEL to buy and repair the house. The new shelter was then equipped with furniture and water heating.
8 children and mistresses were relocated in the new shelter. The orphans are from Rustavi, Tbilisi and Tskneti shelters.
Monitoring of the project will be run by the children’s care department of Rustavi and Bank of Georgia.
After the August war Bank of Georgia settled the fund for caring for the victims of the conflict. Bank of Georgia restored three schools in the villages Ergneti, Dici and the city Gori, all damaged during the war. The total sum for restoring the schools was more than 1.2 million GEL. The Bank also financed the rehabilitating works for relocated people. From August 2008 till November 2009 Bank of Georgia in total issued 1.8 million GEL to support relocated citizens.
