The FINANCIAL — A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Batumi State Maritime Academy of Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and the Korean Transport Company ‘Hyundai Glovis’.
The Memorandum envisages that the students of the Batumi State Maritime Academy of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development will complete the Marine Training Practice on the ships of the Hyundai Glovis, according to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
Giorgi Gakaria, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the Deputy Economy Minister Giorgi Cherkezishvili, the Director of Maritime Transport Agency Mamuka Akhaladze and the Rector of the Batumi State Maritime Academy Irakli Sharabidze attended the ceremony. The CEO of the Hyundai Glovis Kyung-bae Kim and the CEO of the Hyundai Glovis Europe Sean Kim represented the Korean side.
“This is a very important fact since our maritime students will be able to level-up their professional skills. It will further increase the already ultimate quality of education in our Marine Academy. It is of outmost importance that such large companies appear in Georgia and get engaged in our educational system,” – the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development commented.
The Hyundai Glovis is one of the largest Korean transportation companies providing naval freight-logistics services as well as overland and air transportation, warehouse and packaging management. This is the first official visit of the Hyundai Glovis Kyung-bae CEO, Kim to Georgia.
