The FINANCIAL — On 3 March 2016, Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze met Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and European Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium Didier Reynders.
The Ministers expressed their satisfaction with the ongoing co-operation between the two countries which has become increasingly dynamic recently, according to MFA of Georgia.
The Georgian Foreign Minister thanked his Belgian colleague for Belgium’s firm support of Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
Both sides highlighted the successful reforms that have been carried out by Georgia, which will bring the country closer to EU standards and will contribute to the consolidation of democratic institutions, protection of human rights and the strengthening of the rule of law.
Didier Reynders expressed his hope that significant progress will be achieved in the visa liberalization process in the near future.
The two ministers exchanged their views over the increasing potential of economic co-operation between the two countries emphasizing the importance of Georgia as an economic and transit hub in the region. Mikheil Janelidze spoke about the reforms which the Georgian Government has implemented for promoting business and attracting investments to Georgia.
