The FINANCIAL — The Believe Foundation raised a record amount of GEL 140,881 at its 5th Charity Gala dinner in Biltmore Batumi Hotel on December 7, 2019. The event once again put the focus on reducing poverty and inequalities, support for education and creating an inclusive environment for those less fortunate living in Poti and western Georgia.
With the continued support of Georgian and international companies the Believe team raised funds to take actions on the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals* (SDGs) – No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Quality Education, Reduced Inequalities, and Partnership for the goals.
Benedikt Hosek, Economic and Social Development Officer, UNDP Georgia said – “The Sustainable Development Goals are a challenging list addressing questions of living standards, prosperity, green economy, health and well-being, environmental protection and human rights. It is a great occasion for the business sector to look for opportunities on how to contribute to achieving a better and more sustainable future for all.“
The evening featured a spectacular musical performance by the composer and musician Dato Evgenidze who was joined by the singer Giorgi Makharashvili and his band. In addition to that, the attendees had the pleasure of hearing the renowned singer, and the winner of The Voice of Germany 2017, Natia Todua who performed at the charity event.
Auctioneer-extraordinaire Mr. Cliff Isaak, Honorary Consul of Canada in Georgia, orchestrated another successful auction with pieces from Georgian artists. A special thank you to Lasha Akhaladze who, with his generosity, gave the auction excitement and significantly contributed to the overall success of the event.
Charity Auction artworks were donated by Natia Mcheidze, Lika Shkhvatsabaia, Nino Chakvetadze, Natia Bekauri, Beka Svirava, Shalva Londaridze, Grigol Ghvania, Sofio Mushkudiani, Levan Mosiashvili, Ani Maglakelidze, Eka Gedenidze, Buba Arabuli, and Koka Tskhvediani.
