The FINANCIAL — The latest analyses from Berliner Volksbank, the largest regional cooperative bank in Germany, confirm the benefits of ATMs featuring cash recycling technology. As a result, the bank has ordered an additional 57 CINEO cash recycling systems from Wincor Nixdorf.
Half of Berliner Volksbank’s branches are already equipped with cash recycling systems, which dispense deposited banknotes again after checking their authenticity. Cash recyclers need to be replenished less frequently, making them a “win-win-win situation” for the bank. Business customers appreciate the convenience of being able to deposit their day’s takings securely around the clock, while private customers benefit from the fact that recycling functionality reduces system failures due to overfilling. The bank, meanwhile, can reduce the cost and time involved in cash handling by around a third. Since the number of deposit transactions at self-service systems is increasing, Berliner Volksbank decided to equip highly frequented branches with additional cash recyclers as well as using them to replace standard ATMs in other branches. Once all the new devices have been installed, Berliner Volksbank will have 135 cash recycling systems in operation.
The keys to winning the contract were Berliner Volksbank’s good experiences with Wincor Nixdorf’s quality and the recycling systems’ high availability. Furthermore the bank evaluated positively that Wincor Nixdorf’s ATMs and cash recyclers use standardized cash cassettes. Another factor was the security of the systems, which are equipped with various security components, according to Wincor Nixdorf.
“Customer satisfaction knows no opening hours, and we’re consciously investing in a convenient self-service infrastructure in the interest of our customers,” says Jörg Bauske, Head of IT at the bank. “Wincor Nixdorf is helping us here by providing the right high-quality solutions.”
