The FINANCIAL — On 30 April 2015, another round of political consultations was held between the Foreign Ministries of Georgia and the Kingdom of Spain, according to MFA Georgia.
Deputy Foreign Minister Gigi Gigiadze headed the Georgian delegation while the Spanish delegation was led by Director-General for Foreign Policy and Security at the Spanish Foreign Ministry Enrique Mora.
The sides discussed a wide range of issues including bilateral and multilateral relations; special attention was paid to the strengthening of trade-economic relations between the two countries, as well as to future prospects for co-operation in the fields of culture and education.
Discussions also focused on the importance of the EU-Georgia Association Agreement and its effective implementation. The sides expressed the hope that Spain will soon ratify the Agreement.
The sides focused on the issues relating to regional security; relations between Georgia and Russia; situation in the occupied territories and the format of Geneva Discussions.
The Spanish delegation once again reaffirmed the Spanish government’s unequivocal support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Within the framework of the visit, the Spanish delegation held a meeting with Deputy State Minister on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Archil Karaulashvili.
