The FINANCIAL — The Association of Business School (ABS) is pleased to announce that Blackwell’s the academic, professional and specialist booksellers have joined as our first corporate member.
Corporate members are private companies that have an interest in business and management education and the ABS for networking purposes. Membership is awarded at the discretion of the ABS Executive.
Corporate members are entitled to free sponsorship of one ABS event per annum and receive a 50% reduction in the published exhibition fees for all other events.
As The Association of Business School reported, they have full and equal access to all activities undertaken by the ABS and may send a non-voting representative to the Annual General Meeting. Corporate Members are not eligible to serve on the ABS Executive but can be co-opted onto ABS Committees.
Prof. Angus Laing, Chairman ABS and Dean of Business and Economics at Loughborough University said:
“We are delighted to welcome Blackwell’s as our first corporate member, ABS is moving ahead and re positioning ourselves as a global hub for business schools, encompassing stakeholders and international schools into the fold.
The very nature of what we do means we need to forge links with, and work closely with businesses to reflect our members needs, and as an Association move forward with our new strategic plan.
We look forward to working with Blackwell’s over the coming months”.
David Prescott, Managing Director, Blackwell’s Bookshops and Online said: Blackwell’s are delighted to announce our membership of the Association of Business Schools. As the UK’s largest Academic, Specialist and Professional Bookseller we have long standing mutually beneficial relationships with University Business Schools and their students and we are continually striving for new and innovative ways to support that customer base. Our membership of the ABS will allow us to voice the recommendations and concerns of those partners in the provision of print and digital content with a view to influencing policy and technology in the Business and Management Education sphere. We very much look forwards to working with them”.
