The FINANCIAL — BNP Paribas ranks no.2 of the 2014 World’s Greenest Banks Ranking published by Bloomberg, which assesses the most engaged banks on environmental protection, according to BNP Paribas.
As the 2014 Climate Week ends, the world’s largest summit on climate change, Bloomberg unveils a list of global banks ranked by their environmental performance. BNP Paribas ranks no.2 with an overall score of 82.3/100.
The ranking applies the following criteria:
their investments in clean energy such as wind, solar, geothermal, hydro, biomass/biofuels and related technologies;
efforts to reduce their own waste and carbon footprints: the bank’s reductions in air emissions, water use and energy efficiency;
restriction of deals in coal industry projects.
This result marks the commitment of BNP Paribas to operate in the respect of the environment and in the interest of all its businesses, according to BNP Paribas.
