The FINANCIAL — Frédéric Thoral has been appointed Head of Human Resources for the International Retail Services (IRS) core business.
He will automatically become a member of the core business' comex and a member of the Group's Human Resources Committee. Based in Paris, he will work directly with Pierre Mariani, Head of International Retail Services and report operationally to Frédéric Lavenir, Head of Group Human Resources.
Aged 43, Frédéric Thoral is a graduate of Lyon's Institut d'Etudes Politiques and has a DESS (applied masters degree) in HR Management from the University of Paris IX Dauphine. He began his career in 1989 at Rank Xerox France, then joined the Bouygues group before working his way up through the SFR Cegetel group from 1995 to 2004, where he was promoted to Deputy HR Director. Furthermore, he was Chairman of UNETEL – RST, the telecom and Internet employers' federation, from 2001 to 2003. After a stint at the AREVA group from 2004 to 2007, where he was Vice President Human Resources & Management Development, he moved to Oberthur Technologies as Group Senior Vice President Human Resources and member of the group's executive committee tasked with setting up an international HR team.
Frédéric Thoral will be responsible for defining the IRS HR strategy, organisation and leadership, working closely with the other divisional HR teams to implement the Group's managerial development, international recruitment, talent management and remuneration policies within the framework of the Group's overall HR policy. He takes over from Françoise Barnier, Head of HR for IRS since 2004, who becomes Head of Career Development and Training within the Group HR team.
