The FINANCIAL — Bulgaria has simplified visa procedures for Ukrainian citizens, beginning on June 15.
The press service of the Bulgarian Foreign Affairs Ministry announced this in a statement.
The simplification of Bulgaria's visa procedures also applies to citizens of Russia, Belarus, and Moldova.
According to the relevant directive by the Bulgarian Foreign Affairs Ministry, free visas will be issued to participants in international youth sports events; students and teachers visiting Bulgaria for education and participation in educational trainings; scientists traveling to the country to conduct research; representatives of non-commercial organizations aged up to 25; participants in official exchange programs between twin cities.
In addition, an applicant that has received at least one Bulgarian visa within the past year and used the visa lawfully and proves and is able to prove that he needs to visit the country are eligible for multiple visas for periods of up to one year.
Multiple visas may also be issued to people that own real estate in Bulgaria and members of their families.
An applicant may be issued multiple visas for 2-5 years after using multiple visas for one year.
The new visa procedures will come into effect on June 15.
The simplification of the visa procedures is expected to increase the flow of tourists into the country.
Bulgaria is not in the Schengen zone. Therefore, the procedures apply to only national entry visas.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Bulgaria has said that it is prepared to facilitate the process of abolition of visas between Ukraine and the European Union.
