The FINANCIAL — The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed First Deputy Finance Minister Ihor Umanskyi acting finance minister until the Verkhovna Rada appoints the finance minister.
Ukrainian News learned this from governmental resolution No.377 dated April 8.
The Cabinet of Ministers has authorized Umanskyi to perform duties of the finance minister for a period until the Verkhovna Rada appoints the finance minister.
34-year-old Ihor Umanskyi was appointed to the post of the first deputy finance minister in January 2008.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Finance Minister Viktor Pynzenyk resigned from the post on February 12, 2009. The minister said his professional position was "taken hostage" of the politics.
On February 17, 2009, the Verkhovna Rada accepted resignation of Viktor Pynzenyk from the post.
