The FINANCIAL — The Cabinet of Ministers is planning to allocate UAH 834.1 million from the state budget's special fund for financing construction and reconstruction of energy installations in 2009.
The media relations department of the Cabinet of Ministers' secretariat announced this in a statement.
At a meeting on April 8, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a list of power generating units at nuclear power stations, pumped-storage hydroelectric power stations, other power stations, power substations, and heat-and-power stations, as well as power transmission lines, construction, reconstruction, and repair of which money from the state budget's special fund will be used to finance in 2009.
According to the media relations department of the Cabinet of Ministers' secretariat, special attention will be paid to construction of power installations that are of strategic importance to the state.
In particular, the construction of the Tashlyk pumped-storage hydroelectric power station (Yuzhnoukrainsk, Mykolaiv region) and the first phase of the Dnister pumped-storage hydroelectric power station (Chernihiv region) will be continued this year.
The construction of the autonomous power system on the Zmiinyi Island (Odesa region) will be completed this year and the construction of a power transmission line from the Rivne nuclear power station to the Kyivska substation will be continued.
In accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers resolution No. 330 of April 8, the government plans to spend UAH 295.3 million on completion of the construction of the Tashlyk pumped-storage hydroelectric power station, UAH 78.694 million on construction of a 750-kilovolt power transmission line from the Rivne nuclear power station to the Kyivska substation and reconstruction of facilities for distributing electricity to power transmission lines at the Rivne and Khmelnytskyi nuclear power stations, UAH 291.609 million on completing the first phase of the construction of the Dnister pumped-storage hydroelectric power station, UAH 18.497 million on construction of the autonomous power system on the Zmiinyi Island, and UAH 150 million on construction of facilities for distributing electricity to a 330-kilovolt power transmission line in 2009.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the parliament has decided to allocate UAH 5 billion from the Stabilization Fund for financing investment projects involving construction, re-equipment, and liquidation of coal and peat mines in 2009.
It also plans to allocate UAH 888.744 million for creation of a nuclear fuel cycle and transforming dangerous facilities at the Prydniprovskyi chemical plant (Dnipropetrovsk region) into environmentally friendly facilities.
