The FINANCIAL — Canadian new-house prices edged slightly above expectations in August, led by advances in new home prices in the province of Ontario, Statistics Canada said on October 8, according to Nasdaq.
Prices of new houses nationwide climbed 0.3% month-over-month, above the 0.1% gain that was recorded in July. Expectations were for a 0.2% increase, according to economists at Royal Bank of Canada.
On a year-on-year basis, prices advanced 1.3%, following identical increases in June and July.
