The FINANCIAL — LG and Carrefour are launching an environmental awareness campaign in collaboration with Las Rozas Local Authority and the Spanish Forest Stewardship Council (FSC Spain). As part of this campaign, LG and Carrefour will plant four trees for every purchase of a maximum energy efficiency LG electrical appliance from any Carrefour hypermarket.
The launch was attended by José de la Uz, Mayor of Las Rozas; Eric Uzan, Executive Director of Carrefour Southern Europe, Jaime de Jaraíz, President of LG Electronics Iberia; Francisco Dominguez, Non Food Commercial Director; y Gonzalo Anguita, Executive Director of FSC Spain.
This initiative, which is closely linked to LG’s Smart Green commitment and Carrefour’s commitment to spearhead food transition as part of its sustainability drive, sets out primarily to continue raising awareness among consumers of their essential environmental protection action, which can be taken at the very moment of the deciding to make a purchase and which both companies want to promote.
To this end, from 12 July until 31 August, all Carrefour Spain centres, as well as the company website, will focus their communications on LG’s most energy efficient electrical appliances and each of these models sold in Carrefour hypermarkets will translate directly into four new trees for the municipality of Las Rozas and Cuenca Alta del Manzanares, Madrid.
