The FINANCIAL — Cushman & Wakefield announced on November 4 that Chris Yeakey is joining the firm as Market Leader for its Indianapolis office, effective Nov. 16. Managing Principal Jeffrey L. Henry, SIOR, is retiring at the end of the year.
“I am excited to join the Cushman & Wakefield team in Indianapolis – there is no better place to continue my career in commercial real estate,” said Mr. Yeakey. “And I’m happy and honored to take the reins from such a respected professional as Jeff Henry, who built the office to be what it is today.”
Mr. Yeakey joins Cushman & Wakefield from Duke Realty, where he was Vice President, Regional Asset Manager for Indiana and Ohio. He joined the firm in 1997 and most recently managed the its industrial and office assets in its Indiana and Ohio Region, which included properties in Indianapolis and Lebanon, IN, and Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Yeakey also oversaw the development and leadership of the Industrial and Office Asset Management and Customer Relations Group. Additionally, he was a member of the Indiana and Ohio Industrial and Office Strategic Planning Team, according to Cushman & Wakefield.
Mr. Yeakey is a graduate of Indiana State University. He is the current Vice President of the Indianapolis chapter of the Building Owners and Managers Association International, and serves on the boards of the Indiana chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Michael Treinen Foundation. Mr. Yeakey also is the assistant offensive line coach for the Noblesville High School varsity football team, and serves as the commissioner of football for Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church’s CYO program.

A 42-year commercial real estate veteran, Mr. Henry has led Cushman & Wakefield’s Indianapolis office for 15 years. He began his commercial real estate career with F.C. Tucker Commercial, now Cushman & Wakefield, in 1973. Mr. Henry specialized in leasing and selling office buildings and in tenant representation. He served as sales manager for Tucker’s commercial/industrial division.
Mr. Henry was president of an Indianapolis developer’s realty company in charge of office leasing and development. He also served as president and owner of his own commercial real estate company for seven years. Mr. Henry rejoined the company in 1998 as manager of the office sales and leasing group, and was later named Managing Principal in March 2000. As Managing Principal, Mr. Henry has been responsible for all phases of the operation, including brokerage, property management, construction services, auction services, marketing and research.
