The FINANCIAL — Clima East Project organised workshops in Armenia (2&4 February 2016) and Georgia (8 February 2016) to discuss the draft Action Plan for the promotion of climate smart agriculture (CSA) in Georgia and the elaboration of recommendations for the Strategic Direction of CSA in the Agriculture Development Strategy of Armenia.
According to the press release, published on the Clima East web-site, the Action Plan is developed within a Clima East Expert Facility assignment on ‘Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture practice in Georgia and Armenia’ that was launched in 2015.
The Stakeholders can comment on the Action Plan until the end of February 2016. The received comments will be analysed and incorporated into the draft Action Plan for Georgia and Recommendations for Agriculture Development Strategy in Armenia. Subsequently, the Clima East Project will present these two documents to the beneficiary Ministries of Agriculture in the two countries.
The Clima East Project supports climate change mitigation and adaptation in Eastern Partnership countries and Russia. The Project also helps partner countries to prepare for greenhouse gas emission reductions and to better deal with the impacts of climate change.
