The FINANCIAL — Zurich Financial Services Group announced today the appointment of Colm J. Holmes as Group Treasurer, with immediate effect.
He succeeds Pierre Wauthier, who has been appointed Chief Financial Officer and member of the Group Executive Committee, with effect October 1, 2011. In his new position, Mr. Holmes will be responsible for driving the strategy of Zurich’s Group Treasury, in particular by further optimizing Zurich’s capital structure and strengthening its balance sheet. He will report to Pierre Wauthier and be based in Zurich.
Mr. Holmes joined Zurich in 2001 from JP Morgan. Since 2010 he has served as Chief Executive Officer of Zurich’s Centrally Managed Business and as Head of Zurich Banking Group. Prior to this he was CEO of CMB Europe and Chief Operating Officer for Zurich’s Centre Solutions in New York and Dublin.
Mr. Holmes holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Trinity College Dublin and is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
