The FINANCIAL — Georgian companies will be on Santa’s list again this year. The companies interviewed by The FINANCIAL say they will not reduce the budget for corporate presents. Last year sweets and wine dominated among the corporate gifts that companies gave each other and to clients, this tendency will not change this year either.
Over the last two years many companies in Georgia were limiting their Christmas budget. The global economic crisis was responsible for this as it changed the marketing strategy for leading businesses including banks, insurance companies and oil retailers. Now however they feel more secure, presenting new products to the local market, advertising more in print and on TV.

New Year is a time to celebrate the coming of another year marked by different festive activities. It’s the perfect time to wish your colleagues, employees and fellow co-workers a prosperous new beginning and good luck. New Year corporate gifts are an acknowledgement of the year long service one receives and gives to his/her corporate organization. Corporate gifts on the other hand stand as a gesture of goodwill and commitment in the long run.

“We are planning to give out different gifts to our partner companies and not only to them. Our clients will also receive gifts this New Year,” said Natia Gotsadze, PR Manager of TBC Bank.
“The list of gifts that we give as presents for the New Year includes sweets, drinks, churchkhela and also some exclusive handmade New Year decorations,” said Natia Gotsadze, PR Manager of TBC Bank.
“Over the last 2 years the presents we gave to different companies have included: TBC Bank branded business diaries, branded clocks, branded Christmas tree decorations, a DVD of Georgian cartoons, wine, sweets and other things,” Gotsadze said.
According to Lika Mikautadze, PR Manager of company Populi the prices of their corporate gift baskets will start from 20 GEL and reach 150 GEL.
“The prices of our corporate gift baskets won’t decrease this New Year; they will stay the same,” Mikautadze said. “We put in the baskets products which are sold in the Populi network. Different sorts of chocolates, drinks, sweets, Churchkhela and hazelnuts all decorated nicely, will be put in the gift basket which we will give as presents to different companies,” Mikautadze said.
“There will also be a specially designed gift basket for the New Year that our clients will be able to buy,” Mikautadze said.
Mzia Sharashidze from company Redix, which is also quite active in giving out corporate gifts at New Year, says their corporate gift baskets usually include wine, chocolates, sweets, glasses, pens and business diaries. All the gifts are decorated with the Redix logo.
“We do not yet know exactly what gifts we will be giving to our partner companies. We have already sorted out a special budget for corporate gifts though. And we also have a list of presents which we will put in the gift baskets this year,” Sharashidze said.
“It’s a surprise for our partner companies what presents they will receive from us this New Year. Bank Republic is always happy to give out presents at New Year. We aren’t going to decrease the budget for corporate gifts this New Year and I think that this year the presents will be better than before,” said Tata Shavdia, PR Manager of Bank Republic.
“We give out gifts every year to both individuals and corporations. In general we don’t wait for the New Year to give presents, but instead during the year we always try to use the ability to pay special attention to our consumers as well as our corporate clients and partner companies,” said Sophie Balavadze, PR Manager of Bank of Georgia.
It’s expected that the majority of Santa’s corporate gift baskets will come from banks, insurance companies and supermarkets.
