The FINANCIAL — Following the meeting with the ruling party, the President of Georgia H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili emphasized the necessity of consensus and expressed willingness to continue holding consultations with all political forces, if necessary.
After the meeting with the Parliamentary majority, held at the Presidential Palace, the Head of the Administration of the President, Mr. Giorgi Abashishvili stated:
“The meeting was interesting and constructive; conversation touched upon the two topics that are included in the constitutional amendments. The President of Georgia continues holding political consultations on these issues with all political parties, including the ruling party.
President Margvelashvili places special emphasis on reaching a consensus on the constitutional issues, finding common viewpoints, and reaching all-encompassing agreement on the document of consent – Constitution; therefore, in the days to come, the President and his team will spare no efforts to find common grounds for reaching a consensus.
If necessary, meetings will be held with everyone, including the ruling political party. After today’s constructive meeting, obviously, our communication on these issues continues.”
President Margvelashvili offered the “Georgian Dream” and other political parties to meet and discuss the Constitution in the last week. The President has already met with representatives of about 20 political parties to discuss the same topic, according to the Administration of the President of Georgia.
Today’s meeting has also been attended by the Head of the Administration of the President Mr. Giorgi Abashishvili, Secretary of the National Security Council Mr. Davit Rakviashvili, Political Secretary of the President Ms. Pikria Chikhradze, Parliamentary Secretary of the President Ms. Ana Dolidze, and the Advisor to the President in Human Rights and Justice Issues Mr. Kakha Kozhoridze.
From the ruling party, the leader of the Parliamentary majority Mr. Archil Talakvadze and representatives of political parties within the Parliamentary majority – Mr. Mamuka Mdinaradze, Mr. Gia Zhorzholiani, Ms. Nino Goguadze, Mr. Simon Nozadze, Mr. Kakha Okriashvili and Mr. Giorgi Gachechiladze were present at the meeting.
