The FINANCIAL — The Minister of Agriculture of Georgia hosted the representatives of Migros Group, the largest retail company of Switzerland.
At the meeting the sides were focused on issues of deepening cooperation between Georgia-Switzerland  in the hazelnut sector.The Migros Group embraces different directions in the fields of food and agriculture, including Chocolat Frey AG, which is a leading chocolate manufacturer founded in 1887 in Switzerland, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia.
The participants noted, that Swiss side gives high importance to the quality of products, especially hazelnut products used in the manufacturing process and expressed their willingness to strengthen the cooperation with Georgia, in case if Georgian side pays special attention to the hazelnut quality standards and requirements. Swiss side plans to implement important projects in the hazelnut sector of Georgia.
The Minister of Agriculture of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili drew his attention to the potential of hazelnut in Georgia and noted, that technical regulations on hazelnut products have been developed along with international regulations and control system to promote the development of the sector. The importance of Georgian hazelnut to attain the high reputation on the international market was underlined by the Minister of Agriculture at the meeting.
