The FINANCIAL — Four large-scale projects on strengthening human rights standards, advancing penitentiary reform, fighting corruption and supporting elections in Ukraine were presented to the media last week. The total budget for the two-year implementation of these joint EU-Council of Europe projects is €4 million.
The projects, which will be carried out under the EU-CoE Programmatic Cooperation Framework for the Eastern Partnership, will focus on strengthening human rights standards, including the Ombudsperson’s Office; advancing penitentiary reform; fighting corruption; and supporting free and fair elections in Ukraine, according to EU Neighbourhood Info.
Ukraine also participates in 14 regional actions covering several Eastern Partnership countries.
