The FINANCIAL — According to the analysis of the geography of export supplies of Ukrainian groats held by APK-Inform analysts, Ukraine actively supplies the reporting commodities to countries of the Caspian-Black Sea region, in particular, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
Thus, in 2014/15 MY in the above mentioned three countries purchased 7.1 thsd tonnes of groats in total, or 12% of the general exports of such commodities from Ukraine (59.5 thsd tonnes). At the same time, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan entered the TOP-10 of major countries-importers of Ukrainian groats. In particular, in the reporting period Azerbaijan reached the 8th position with the import volumes at 2.8 thsd tonnes. Georgia took the 9 th position, and imported 2.7 thsd tonnes of groats from Ukraine. And Kazakhstan closed the TOP-10, and purchased 1.7 thsd tonnes of Ukrainian groats.
During 7 months of 2015/16 MY (July-January), Georgia and Azerbaijan purchased nearly 1 thsd tonnes of Ukrainian groats each, Kazakhstan – a little more than 0.9 thsd tonnes. Some reduction of the commodity supplying was caused by the general downward trend in the groats export from Ukraine in terms of similar decline of its production volumes. So, in July-January of the current MY Ukraine exported 33.1 thsd tonnes of groats, down 14% compared with the same period last season.
