The FINANCIAL — Marriott International’s Courtyard by Marriott brand has opened two new properties in Europe; Amsterdam, the Netherlands and Gdynia, Poland.
Both properties will operate under a franchise agreement with Scandinavian Hospitality Management and will showcase the brand’s new European design, which focuses on blending technology and style, according to Marriott International.
To meet the needs of business travellers, the European Courtyard Hotel design combines business functionality with a spacious, uncluttered style. Travellers can enjoy appealing and convenient food and drink options 24 hours a day and the dynamic lobby spaces feature free Wifi, flexible seating and smart, inspiring interior design that welcomes and invigorates guests. An interactive GoBoard® screen provides up to the minute news, weather and local information so guests are always in touch.
Courtyard by Marriott Spotlights Fresh European Design at New Hotels in Poland and The Netherlandsourtyard Amsterdam Arena Atlas is in the business district Amsterdam Zuidoost, just 13 minutes train journey from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and 10 minutes on the metro from the city centre. It is also close to some of the city’s largest venues, including Amsterdam RAI, Amsterdam ArenA and Heineken Music Hall.
The 175-room property comprises 21 Premium and 154 Standard rooms, all of which have 42-inch Smart LED TV and complimentary Wifi. Six meeting rooms have latest AV, high speed Wifi access and natural light. The largest meeting room has capacity for 140 guests.
Courtyard Gdynia Waterfront offers 200 rooms – 134 Premium, 54 Standard, 11 Business, and one suite with views over the sea. A large, moveable desk, ergonomic chair, 40-inch LCD HD TV and a laptop sized safe along with complimentary Wifi throughout the hotel allows guests to tailor their working environment to their requirements.
The hotel has nine meeting rooms including a 491 sq. meter ballroom which can be divided into four areas with a foyer and adjacent terrace boasting a BBQ and picnic area.
Gdynia celebrates the great outdoors and there is a large choice of sporting activities, indoors and out, close to the hotel, including bike-riding, horse-riding, fly fishing, water sports, squash, volleyball and golf.
GåRD Nordic Kitchen will serve freshly prepared food in both hotels, inspired by traditional Scandinavian recipes. The hotel’s restaurants are designed to attract local business as well as hotel guests and ensure a lively and energising atmosphere
Guests will be able to earn points for their stay towards free holidays, flights, room nights and more through Marriott Rewards, an award-winning frequent traveller programme with 50 million members worldwide offering exclusive membership privileges across 3,800 hotels and 74 countries.
Courtyard by Marriott opened its milestone 1000th hotel in March 2015 with the opening of Courtyard Washington Walla Walla, USA. With the largest global rooms pipeline across the Marriott portfolio, Courtyard expects to expand into 40 countries by summer 2015. With a presence in all 50 U.S. states, 50 percent of new projects will be outside of the brand’s home country including several new hotels planned for Europe by end 2016. Courtyard celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2013 and remains Marriott’s second largest revenue generator.
