The FINANCIAL — Stuttgart-based Daimler AG is showing a winner of a very special kind at the 40th RDA Workshop in Cologne (29 – 31 July 2014) – the bus of the German national football team. The Mercedes-Benz Travego of the German Football Association (DFB), with which the new world champions were collected from Berlin airport on their return from Brazil, can be admired on stand N01 in Hall 10.2 at the Bus Tourism Show, according to Daimler AG.
As a general sponsor, Mercedes-Benz has provided the DFB with its team bus for over 40 years. The premium high-decker with 36 touring seats has served as a luxurious team bus for Thomas Müller, Manuel Neuer, Mats Hummels etc. since 2012. Hartmut Schick, Head of Daimler Buses, is proud of the World Cup winner’s bus, which is also a real winner when it comes to environmental compatibility: “In addition to safety and comfort for our football aces, the Travego with its Euro VI in-line six-cylinder Mercedes-Benz OM 471 engine from the BlueEfficiency Power generation combines ecology and economy as a winning combination.” The 476 hp three-axle coach is equipped with Active Brake Assist ABA2, which can also initiate emergency braking in response to stationary obstacles and significantly reduces the risk of an accident.
Most important trade fair for group touring: Omniplus and BusStore showing their current products
Daimler AG is presenting three vehicles from its current premium bus range at the RDA Workshop in the Cologne exhibition complex. The Neu-Ulm based Setra brand is showing the luxury S 516 HDH touring coach from the new TopClass 500 on the stand shared with Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes-Benz is represented by a Sprinter Travel 65. Visitors to the fair are also able to obtain comprehensive information about the current products of the service brands Omniplus and BusStore, the new quality brand for used Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses in Europe, according to Daimler AG.
