The FINANCIAL — Professor Dame Sally Davies, Chief Medical Officer for England and a Governor of Ashridge Business School has been named by BBC Woman’s Hour in The Power List 2013 of the most powerful women in the UK.
As Ashridge Media Centre said, she was named sixth with The Queen and Theresa May, the Home secretary, first and second, but Dame Sally finished ahead of many other highly successful women, including JK Rowling, Harriet Harman, the Deputy Leader of the Labour Party, and those from the world of business, politics and entertainment.
She was appointed a Governor of Ashridge in April 2006. As well as being Chief Medical Officer, Dame Sally is Chief Scientific Adviser for the Department of Health and NHS.
