Dangerous surf conditions over Christmas for southern Queensland

The FINANCIAL — The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Severe Weather Warning today for Dangerous Surf conditions and Abnormally High Tides for coastal areas from Sandy Cape to Point Danger, including the popular Fraser, Sunshine and Gold Coasts.


The Bureau of Meteorology's Regional Director in Queensland, Jim Davidson, said that large ocean swells, generated by a combination of ex-tropical cyclone Fina and a ridge of high pressure, would affect the Queensland coast from tomorrow.The dangerous surf conditions are likely to continue through to Tuesday.
