The FINANCIAL — Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) on June 7 announced that Robin Dargue has been appointed Executive Vice-President of Business and Information Technology Transformation, effective July 21, 2010.
Based in the company’s Paris headquarters, Robin will report to Ben Verwaayen and will be a member of the company’s management committee.
“In this newly-created position, Robin will be responsible for accelerating the company’s transformation through transforming IS/IT and the enterprise architecture, while coordinating the execution of key corporate transformation programs,” Alcatel-Lucent says.

Robin brings 20 years of experience in IT and strong expertise in business transformation and has a history of taking on the challenges of streamlining the business processes, increasing operational efficiency, and revamping companies’ IT function. I am confident he will be instrumental in boosting Alcatel-Lucent’s efficiency in these critical areas for our success,” said Ben Verwaayen, Alcatel-Lucent’s CEO.
Robin joins Alcatel-Lucent from the British Royal Mail where he served as CIO and Technology Director, in charge of a vast IT based transformation program. At British Royal Mail, he oversaw the implementation of 30,000 handheld devices supported by the UK's largest Wi-Fi network, and the introduction of a number of new technology-led products and services for customers, while executing the modernisation of the organisation technology assets. Prior to Royal Mail, Robin was CIO and Business Process Director at Diageo and held various IT leadership positions at Mars and Logica.
Robin Dargue has a degree in computer science from Strathclyde University.
