The FINANCIAL — Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister David Dondua took part in the ministerial segment of the International Conference on Nuclear Security.
Within the framework of the Ministerial segment, David Dondia made a statement on behalf of Georgia where he focused on the importance of physical protection of nuclear and radioactive substances for the prevention of their illegal circulation. In this context the deputy Foreign Minister highlighted the threats emanating from Georgia’s occupied territories.
David Dondua also spoke about the reforms that have been carried out or are still ongoing in Georgia, focusing on the close and fruitful co-operation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), according to MFA of Georgia.
The Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister highly appraised the International Conference on Nuclear Security providing a forum to the participating states to exchange their experience in the area of nuclear security and to work out joint action plans.
Within the framework of the Ministerial segment, the participants adopted a declaration on nuclear security.
