The FINANCIAL — Georgian First Deputy Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani met with Vincenzo Amendola, the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy due to assume the chairmanship of OSCE in 2018.
Discussions focused on issues relating to co-opertaion between Georgia and OSCE. The Italian side was provided with detailed information regarding the difficult security and human rights situation in Georgia’s occupied territories and the policy of ethnic cleansing against ethnical Georgians in the Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions. Special attention was paid to OSCE’s role and to the need of the international community’s involvement in the conflict resolution process.
The sides highlighted the importance of the Geneva International Discussions and the need to achieve progress on issues relating to the Georgia-Russia conflict, according to MFA of Georgia.
