The FINANCIAL — On 16 May 2016, as part of his visit to the United Kingdom, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister David Dondua held a meeting with Baroness Anelay, Minister of State for the Foreign & Commonwealth Office.
Discussions focused on the difficult security, humanitarian and human rights situation in Georgia’s occupied regions, according to MFA of Georgia.
David Dondua spoke about the Georgian Government’s policy with respect to the peaceful settlement of conflicts, informing the British side on the progress which has so far been achieved in the Geneva International Discussions. He also focused on the importance of a direct informal dialogue between the special representatives of Georgia and Russia.
The sides paid special attention to the importance of restoring confidence between the communities torn apart by the war, as well as of increasing the international engagement in his process. The sides also discussed the opportunities of future co-operation, including within the framework of international organisations.
