The FINANCIAL — Georgian First Deputy Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia Heike Renate Peitsch.
The sides discussed the parliamentary elections held on 8 October emphasizing that the elections were conducted in peaceful and democratic environment. Davit Zalkaliani thanked the German side for its positive assessment of the elections.
The First Deputy Foreign Minister provided the German colleague with information regarding the security situation in Georgia’s occupied regions, according to MFA of Georgia.
Special attention during the meeting was paid to the process of Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration. Davit Zalkaliani expressed his thanks for the support registered by Germany at the COREPER meeting for granting Georgia visa-free travel with the EU.
Emphasis was also put on the importance of further deepening co-operation within the international organisations, OSCE and UN, in particular.
