The FINANCIAL — On 30 May, Georgian First Deputy Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani held a meeting with State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Lukáš Parízek, who arrived in Tbilisi as part of the Slovak President’s official visit to Georgia, according to MFA of Georgia.
The sides expressed their satisfaction at the fruitful co-operation between the two countries in both bilateral and multilateral formats, as well as at the increasing number of bilateral high-level visits, emphasizing that President Andrej Kiska’s visit to Georgia is a further proof of the Slovak Government’s clear support for Georgia. Special attention was paid to the importance of deepening co-operation between the two countries. The sides agreed to hold next round of political consultations between the foreign ministries. Davit Zalkaliani thanked his Slovak colleague for the support rendered to Georgia within the Official Development Assistance of the Slovak Republic (ODA SR).
Discussions also focused on Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations. Davit Zalkaliani spoke about Georgia’s expectations with respect to the Warsaw NATO Summit, as well as about the importance of introducing visa free travel with the EU. Lukáš Parízek reaffirmed the Slovak Government’s readiness to continue to support Georgia on its European and Euro-Atlantic integration path.
The sides also discussed the situation in Georgia’s occupied territories. Lukáš Parízek reaffirmed Slovakia’s firm support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
