The FINANCIAL — According to RIA Novosti, the death toll in southern Kazakhstan's flood has risen to 34 as another body has been found, local emergencies services reported on March 15.
On Friday, March 12, flood waters swept away two dams due to unusually heavy precipitation and melting snows. Some 1,000 people had to be evacuated.
"As of March 14 evening, 34 bodies have been found," the services said.
Railroad traffic has been suspended and a number of highways are closed in the region due to floods.
