Deficit Of Foreign Trade In Goods Totals USD 5.7 Billion In 2009

The FINANCIAL — In 2009, imports of goods exceeded exports by USD 5,732.7 million, the State Statistics Committee has informed.

In 2009, the balance of foreign trade in goods improved by USD 12,848.2 million compared to 2008 (a deficit of USD 18,580.9 million in 2008).

In 2009, exports of goods made up USD 39,702.9 million, having fallen by 40.7%, compared to 2008.

The imports of goods made up USD 45,435.6 million, having decreased by 46.9%.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in January-November 2009 imports of goods exceeded exports by USD 4,815 million.

In 2008, imports of goods exceeded exports by USD 18,531.9 million.

In 2008, the balance of foreign trade in goods worsened by USD 7,210 million, compared to 2007, when the negative balance made up USD 11,321.9 million.
