The FINANCIAL — Amid the cannoli, wine and meatballs, Delta, its customers, the Metropolitan Airports Commission and invited guests gathered at the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport to hold a celebration to kick off inaugural daily summer seasonal service between Minneapolis/St. Paul and Rome.
Rome becomes the airline’s 10th peak day flight between the U.S. and Italy and adds to Minneapolis/St. Paul’s offering of more than 450 peak day departures to 129 destinations, according to Delta.
“Additional service is a strong statement of commitment to our community,” said Toby Broberg, Vice President – Airport Customer Service. “And by providing new markets and with beyond connection opportunities via our partners, Delta continues its extending from our region to the world.”
On May 26, Delta also launched Minneapolis/St. Paul service to Reykjavik, Iceland.
The Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport is Delta’s second largest hub, behind Atlanta, and now offers service to five markets in Europe including Amsterdam, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, London-Heathrow, Reykjavik and Rome.
