The FINANCIAL — Delta has filed for regulatory approval to move its Atlanta-Brasilia service to new non-stop flights between Orlando and Brasilia, beginning Dec. 1.
Delta expects to serve the two cities with four weekly flights. The airline’s strategic alliance with GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes extends the reach of this service to 99 percent of Brazilian demand points and provides seamless connections at Brasilia International Airport, according to Delta.
“This new route not only offers Brazilian travelers a direct flight option to one of the most popular family vacation destinations, but also represents the addition of a new U.S. entrance to access other prominent destinations in the United States,” said Luciano Macagno, Delta’s director for Brazil. “From December 2015, Delta will offer a direct flight four times per week and present to customers the reach of GOL’s network with 600 weekly codeshare flights to Brazil’s interior through our combined networks.”
The Brasilia-Orlando flight will offer convenient connections to major U.S. destinations, including Atlanta (ATL), Boston (BOS), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA) and New York (LGA and JFK), and will complement Delta’s new Sao Paulo-Orlando flight, giving Delta’s Brazil passengers daily access to Orlando.
