The FINANCIAL — First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitry Kumsishvili introduced the increased export opportunities at the Chinese market to the representatives of the business unions.
“As a result of the agreement reached with China, Georgian exporters are using the Free Trade Regime advantages at the Chinese market. Last year, over 7 million 600 thousand bottles of Georgian wine was exported to China, which is an unprecedented number. Free Trade Agreement Between Georgia and the People’s Republic of China came into force since the beginning of 2018, which increases the export opportunities for our entrepreneurs at the Chinese market,” – Dimitry Kumsishvili stated.
China is among the five largest trade partners of Georgia. In 2017, the trade turnover with China was increased by 24% (with the exports increased by 23%) and amounted to over 200 million USD, according to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
Dimitry Kumsishvili also informed the meeting participants on the China International Import Expo, which will be held in Shanghai, China on 5-10 November, this year. The conduction of the international exhibition in Shanghai was initiated in May 2017, within the framework of the One Belt, One Road forum in China.
