The FINANCIAL — Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Dimitry Kumsishvili participated in the opening ceremony of the Carrefour new hypermarket at the East Point shopping center, according to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
Minister greeted the audience and congratulated the representatives of the on company on their success. According to Dmitry Kumsishvili, the standards established by Carrefour are very important since the customer is able to get higher quality products and better services on a daily basis.
“It is very important that only 450 people are directly employed in this Hypermarket, and in order to provide the stock and the safety of the hypermarket, at least, the same number of people will be employed. Implemented investments amount to 15 million USD and this sum covers only the construction and renovation of the building and does not imply working capital funds, which are incorporated in the recruitment and equipping of the hypermarket,” – Dimitry Kumsishvili stated.
Carrefour new hypermarket is located over the 10 000 m2, where food and household goods of more than 40 000 species are presented. According to the Carrefour Georiga Director-General, Philip Pegilani, the third supermarket is planed to be opened in Tbilisi, where 120 people will be employed. The company also plans to expand the network in the regions.
Tbilisi Mayor Davit Narmania, French Ambassador to Georgia, H.E. Reno Salens, representatives of Majid Al Futtaim Holding and other invited guests also attended the East Point Carrefour hypermarket opening ceremony.
