The FINANCIAL — First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Dimitry Kumsishvili is visiting Azerbaijan and participates at the Fourth Ministerial Meeting of Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council, which was open by the President of the Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
Within the frames of the visit, First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia met the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, where the topical issues of cooperation between the two states were discussed. Within the framework of the Ministerial, the First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia also held bilateral meetings with the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, Berat Albayrak and the BP Regional President, Gary Jones. Meetings of Dimitry Kumsishvili with the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev, Azerbaijan Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, the European Commission Energy Union Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič and the US Department of States Acting Special Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs Sue Saarnio is also scheduled within the framework of the visit.
The Southern Gas Corridor will allow to deliver the Azerbaijan gas to Europe via Georgia and Turkey. The pipeline will be connected to the TANAP and theTAIR gas pipelines in the future, which will result in delivering the gas from the Shah-Deniz field to the European market, according to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
