The FINANCIAL — International exhibition – China International Import Expo – will be held in Shanghai, China on 5-10 November, this year. Georgia is invited to participate in the exhibition with a special status.
The First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitry Kumsishvili holds the meeting with the heads of the business unions to provide the meeting participants with the detailed information. Chairman of National Wine Agency, Giorgi Samanishvili also attends the meeting, according to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
Georgian companies will be able to introduce their products and services to the potential business partners at the Shanghai Exhibition. The Exhibition will offer great opportunities to the tourism sector as well. Participation in the Shanghai Exhibition will be especially effective after the Free Trade Agreement between Georgia and China entered into force since 2018. Up to 150 000 Chinese and other foreign professional buyers will participate in the exhibition.
In May 2017, within the framework of the One Belt, One Road forum, the President of the People’s Republican of China, Xi Jinping introduced the initiative to conduct the international exhibition in Shanghai. The first exhibition will be held this year and will be held annually during the next 5 years. The official hosts of the exhibition are the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and People’s Government of the Shanghai City Municipality. The exhibition is supported by the World Trade Organization and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.
