The FINANCIAL — First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitry Kumsishvili introduced the newly-appointed Director of the Enterprise Georgia, Mikheil Khidureli to the representatives of media.
The head of the Agency was selected as a result of the competition. Mikheil Khidurale got education at London University of Cardiff, London School of Commerce. He worked at various positions in both Georgian and foreign companies, including of the Great Britain and Qatar. He has a large job experience in investments, export and business development, which, together with the relevant education and skills, was one of the most important advantages when selecting the director of the Enterprise Georgia, according to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
“It is well known to everybody what huge efforts Georgian Government takes for the development of the local production in Georgia, to create export products and to find new markets, to promote SMEs and improve the investment climate,” – the First Vice Prime Minister stated and added that in 2014, the Government of Georgia launched a major project Enterprise Georgia and later, the Enterprise Georgia Agency was established as well. Dimitry Kumsishvili noted that 5,313 projects are supported within the micro and small business support component. In addition, the project is co-financed by 355 enterprises whose total volume of investment equals to over 870 million GEL. Only in these enterprises over 14 000 new jobs will be created.
The First Vice Prime Minister gave the positive evaluation of the Agency’s activity and noted that Enterprise Georgia needs further development via new and interesting components. According to Dimitry Kumsishvili, the Agency should constantly take care of creating new jobs, attracting investments, promoting export and developing projects that will enable our country to attract more and more investments.
According to the new head of the agency, Mikheil Khidureli, today there is a historic opportunity to further strengthen Georgia as an exemplary reformer country at both, the region and the world levels. “I think that the Enterprise Georgia has a direct and tangible impacts on the economic development of the country. It is a great honor to me to guide the Agency, which is staffed with very high level professionals and together we can achieve the goals,” – Mikheil Khidureli stated.
