The FINANCIAL — First Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Dimitry Kumsishvili held a meeting with the Minister of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, Gao Hucheng.
Accomplishment of the negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement between Georgia and China as well as the prospects of the further cooperation between the two countries within the New Silk Road concept – one road – one belt, was discussed during the meeting.
Upon the effective day of the Agreement, Georgia will be able to deliver its production and services to the China market which is one of the largest markets in the world with over 1,4 billion consumers, according to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
Georgia is the first country in the region to have signed a free trade agreement with China.
Negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement between Georgia and China was held in 3 rounds and were accomplished in a record time of 7 months.
Minister of Agriculture Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Nodar Javakhishvili, JSC Georgian Railway Director General Mamuka Bakhtadze and other officials also attended the meeting.
