The FINANCIAL — On August 31, during the meeting held at the State Chancellery, Frist Vice Prime Minister of Georgia Dimitry Kumsishvili and the Belarus Delegation, which was led by the Belarus Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Rusyi, discussed the trade and economic relations between Georgia and the Republic of Belarus.
The parties talked about the issues to be discussed at the third session of the Georgia-Belarus Intergovernmental Committee on Economic Cooperation. The Commission will be co-chaired by the First Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Dimitry Kumsishvili and the Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, Mikhail Rusyi. Issues related to further development of bilateral economic relations between the countries will be discussed during the session and several importuned agreements will be signed upon its completion.
The progress achieved since the last session in Georgia-Belarus economic cooperation was highlighted during the meeting and the factory that will produce tractors was named to be one of the successes. The production produced in that factory will be introduced at the Belarus National Exhibition on September 1, in the Expo Georgia exhibition center, according to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
The improvement in the trade indicators was also specified during the meeting and it was noted that together with Georgian mineral waters, wine and spirits, there is a huge opportunity for the various Georgian products at the Belarus market.
On 1-4 September, within the frames of the official visit of the Belarus Governmental Delegation to Georgia, the first Belarus National Exhibition will take place in Tbilisi where large Belarus companies will represent their products. Belarus National Exhibition is the largest event this year held by the Belarus outside its borders. Products produced in Belarus as well as the cultural program will be introduced at the exhibition. About 150 Belarus companies, including the leading enterprises, will participate in the exhibition.
