The FINANCIAL — On September 22, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Dimitry Kumsishvili held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA to Georgia, Ian C. Kelly. Newly appointed USA Ambassador emphasized the strong support of the USA to Georgia.
Georgian-USA trade and economic relations and the prospects of the further enhancing of cooperation as well as the importance of the US-Georgia Free Trade Agreement were discussed during the meeting, according to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
Dimitry Kumsishvili introduced the Georgia’s tourism and transportation potential to the Ambassador as well as on-going investment projects. Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia stated that the USA is Georgia’s major strategic partner and the largest investor. Kumsishvili expressed hopes that the cooperation between the two states shall even deepen.
The Silk Road Forum, which will be held on October 15-16 in Tbilisi upon the initiative of the Prime Minister of Georgia, also became the part of the conversation. The Forum aims to reveal the new visions and deepen cooperation in the different fields of partnership.
