The FINANCIAL — First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development held a meeting with the women entrepreneurs on May 16.
Representatives of the different sectors of business participated in the meeting with Dimitry Kumsishvili and the representatives of the Business Leaders Federation. This is the first meeting of the Federation with Dimitry Kumsishvili held in the renewed format. Over 60 business women participated in the meeting, according to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
The meeting focused on women’s role and significance in economic development, the necessity to increase their inclusion in public life and other issues. Vivid discussion covered such issues as on-going processes in the Georgian economy, main challenges and how the involvement of women in the business can be facilitated and promoted in general.
First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Dimitry Kumsishvili introduced to the members of the Federation the economic trends of Georgia, including the reforms envisaged by the Government’s 4-point plan and its results. Particular attention was paid to the state programs targeted at the development of the certain sectors of economy, including tourism development and business promotion.
“Ladies put forward certain issues including the accessibility to finances in order to create additional jobs. In this regard, the Credit Guaranty Fund reform that we have already announced might become the key supportive mechanism since the banks can work in this direction and offer special loan portfolios to business women and young businesspersons and these loans than would be supported or guaranteed by the above mentioned Fund,” – the First Vice Prime Minister Dimitry Kumsishvili stated upon completion of the meeting where he provided the detailed answers to the questions that the women entrepreneurs had.
Representatives of the Federation also gave the positive evaluation of the meeting. As they said, “It was a very successful communication platform”. As it was noted, the cooperation in this format with the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia as well as with the Ministry in general will be continued in working format.
