The FINANCIAL — First Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitry Kumsishvili held a meeting with the World Bank Vice President, Hartwig Schafer and, together with the WB delegation members, discussed the main directions of cooperation between Georgia and the WB as well as the economic trends of the country.
The parties gave a very high evaluation of the 25-year cooperation between the World Bank and Georgia, according to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
First Vice Prime Minister Dimitry Kumsishvili widely discussed the prospect of Georgia’s economy, the 4-point plan by the government and the ongoing reforms within the framework of that plan. Dimitry Kumsishvili highlighted the support of the World Bank in the implementation of the reforms and talked about the necessity of further deepening of the cooperation.
The World Bank Vice President, Hartwig Schafer gave a very positive evaluation of Georgia’s current economic situation as well as of ongoing reforms. Joint action program of cooperation between Georgia and the WB clarifying the aspects of partnership during the following 3 years also became the part of the conversation.
Regional Director of the World Bank in the South Caucasus Mercy Tembon, Minister of the Regional Development and Infrastructure Zurab Alavidze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Ekaterine Mikabadze, Deputy Finance Minister Nikoloz Gagua and First Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Lasha Darsalia also attended the meeting.
